As we’re most of the way through the new year craze of ‘Veganuary‘ it seems that this growing dietary trend has gained more and more interest each year. Run by a non-profit organisation; Veganuary encourages people to switch to a vegan diet for the month of January. Last year over 250,000 people took part in the campaign, and this year it’s set to be even more popular.
The overall number of people following a Veggie or Vegan diet around the world is steadily increasing. A study in 2018 showed that there were around 600,000 vegans in Great Britain. Poll results suggest that this figure may double in the next few years.
Therefore, it’s more likely that your friends, family, or even yourself have switched to a vegan or vegetarian diet. So if you’ve got a wedding planned, it’s now more important to cater for vegetarians and vegans at your wedding.
Catering for Everyone at Your Wedding
When planning your wedding menu, you always need to make sure you’re catering for everyone who is attending. If one of your guests is vegetarian, you’ll need a meat-free dish for them to choose. If someone is vegan, they will need a meat-free and dairy-free meal.
Even if no one specifies they are vegetarian or vegan, some people might still opt for these options. This is because people might be flexitarian (semi-vegetarian), or they may prefer the vegetarian option.
You also need to ensure that no one has any serious allergies; nuts, gluten, and dairy allergies are all other requirements we can cater for.
Vegetarian & Vegan Wedding Menus
Providing a vegetarian wedding menu has been a traditional courtesy for providing people with a choice based on their dietary requirements. As a innovative catering company in East Sussex, we’ve put a lot of effort into providing a wide range of vegetarian menu options for your wedding reception.
To start, we have delicious homemade soups if you want something warming and satisfying. Or perhaps you would prefer a choice more exotic, such as a ‘Roasted Mediterranean Vegetable Bruschetta or potato croquettes with wholegrain mustard. We’ll have something for every vegetarian palate.
We also have plenty of main courses to choose from, including a vegan Thai Vegetable Massaman Curry, or a traditional vegetarian Mediterranean Vegetable Lasagne, through to filo baskets filled with wild mushroom & spinach ragout, served with root veg mash! Lots of vegan and veggie side dishes as well – and we can always chat about specifics you want.

Some of these menu options require a fryer to cook the food, which can be hired if needed. However, you’ll need to make sure fryers are permitted at your wedding venue first.
