Caroline and Tim held their wedding ceremony and reception at Hendall Manor Barns, a secluded venue tucked away between Uckfield and Crowborough.
After the ceremony the 51 guests enjoyed Prosecco, elderflower cordial and beers served by us. Once everyone had a drink in their hand it was time for the staff to circulate with the nibbles. Caroline and Tim had chosen ham & cheese croquettes, bbq pulled pork sliders, tomato & parmesan arancini. And last but not least the ever-favourite chicken satay skewers.
Meanwhile our staff were setting the room ready for the Wedding Breakfast. After a group photo outside the guests were ready to take their seats for what we think is the main event – the food!
Caroline and Tim chose wanted a traditional three course meal and opted for our Premium Menu – perfect for the more foodie guests.
The menu choices
To start they enjoyed home made smoked haddock & spring onion fishcakes, homemade ham hock terrine with piccalilli or a trio of salmon. There were a few veggies in the group, and they were catered for with roasted Mediterranean vegetables on toasted homemade focaccia.
For main they pre-selected from slow roasted pork belly with wilted greens, sweet potato mash and a white wine & thyme jus, slow roast shoulder of lamb on boulangere potatoes with Mediterranean vegetables and a tomato & rosemary jus or oven baked cod topped with a basil, parmesan & chorizo crust served on crushed new potatoes with summer greens.
The veggies went for a filo basket with a mushroom & spinach ragout served on a bed of root vegetable mash.
Desserts were lemon & ginger cheesecake, salted caramel pecan pie, or chocolate & coffee pot.
Later on in the evening they grazed on cheese boards with all the accompaniments as well as wedding cake.
Clearly a group of food lovers the menu Caroline and Tim carefully selected was perfect; and the guests really raved about the food – some taking the time to pop into the kitchen to ask about certain ingredients.
