Kate & Kate Celebrants -Tie the knot how & where you want!

Having known Kate D for ten years and more recently Kate T we are chuffed that they made the smart decision to go out on their own as freelance celebrants –  ‘Kate & Kate Celebrants’. Here’s who they are and what they do in their own words (‘cos their words are best…)!

Who are we?

We are Kate Tym (blonde Kate) and Kate Dyer (red-head Kate). We met way back in the mists of time when we were both Marriage Registrars and now we’re Independent Celebrants! So, not only are we best mates, but we’ve built a business together, had a lot of fun and shed a few tears along the way. We share the same values in life, are both perfectionists, professional, hard-working and laugh… a lot!

What we do?

You want your frock to rock, your ring to be bling and your nosh to be posh… so why compromise on the most important part of your day – your ceremony?

So, if you want a ceremony that is as fabulous as you are – make a date with Kate and Kate.

People often ask us why a celebrant-led wedding, though? The answer is simple: because you can have a ceremony that completely and wholly reflects who you are, working alongside someone who is with you every step of the way. The end result? A beautifully-crafted ceremony that is truly personal and always memorable.

Here’s the science bit:

What is a celebrant?

A celebrant is a freelance equivalent of a marriage registrar. We can conduct any ceremony you like, anywhere you like, any time you like.

If it’s not a licensed premises… how will my marriage be legal?

Because you’ll go to the Register Office to do the legal bit before your ceremony with us.

Will it cost more doing it this way?

No. Because the basic legal ceremony at the Register Office only costs £46 per couple plus £70 to give notice, and Kate and Kate’s fees are lower than the Registrar’s fees, you end up paying less. So, much more bang for your buck – it really is a no brainer!

How do I do the legal bit?

You will need to contact the authorising Register Office of your choice (each county offers this service) and make a date – in East Sussex this is Hastings. In Kent it is Canterbury, Tunbridge Wells, Maidstone or Ramsgate.

The fee is £46 and certificates are £4 per copy. The ceremony itself is performed in a regular office space. You must provide your own two witnesses.
