Rebekah and Lawrence tied the knot at 12:30pm on Saturday 7th September 2019 at Hendall Manor Barns in Heron’s Ghyll, stunning venue between Uckfield and Crowborough.

After the ceremony the guests made their way outside for Champagne, Pimms and sparkling Elderflower, that the bride and groom supplied. We did our bit, making sure everyone had some tasty nibbles to keep them going; smoked salmon & cream cheese blinis, chicken satay skewers, thai fish cakes topped with chilli aioli and mini toad in the hole.
At 2:15pm they had a group photo, just before taking their seats back in the barn. A traditional Afternoon Tea was the Wedding Breakfast of choice for Rebekah and Lawrence. It’s important with an Afternoon Tea to make sure everyone is full up, so the savoury part is really important, before you get let loose on the treats!
Savouries consisted of freshly cut sandwiches, mini coronation chicken wraps, cheese & tomato muffin pizzas, speciality sausage rolls, and freshly made cheddar cheese straws.
The sweet treats consisted of strawberry and cream scones, chocolate brownies, lemon drizzle mini loaves and mini strawberry pavolvas – all presented on cake stands with fresh fruit and flowers.
Tea and coffee aplenty on the tables, as well as bottles of fizz and jugs of elderflower. A typically English affair all round. The bride and groom requested to have hot chocolate with theirs! Whatever floats your boat I suppose!
Honesty Bar Drinks
After the meal the bar was open. Rebekah and Lawrence supplied all of the drinks for the bar, but also had an honesty box on the bar – which are a really good idea for weddings with no cash bar facilities. Bride and groom get to recoup some of the outlay – and guests get to avoid outrageous bar prices. It’s win-win.
Evening food was paella; one chicken, chorizo & prawn and the other a veggie paella. This was served with green salad and home-made bread, followed by chocolate brownies with fresh strawberries, and wedding cake.
Another great day, great venue and great food. Rebekah and Lawrence were a real pleasure to cater for.
