Victoria & Stefano – Saturday 14th May 2016

Another lovely couple, Victoria and Stefano chose the delightful Manor Barn in Bexhill for their wedding reception.

After a ceremony at St Peter’s Church the guests arrived for welcome drinks and photos in the beautiful grounds of the Manor.

The room had been decorated beautifully and Victoria had arranged for a delicate flower to be placed on each napkin which looked really effective. Simple posies on bark wedges were displayed in the centre of the tables, and hand-written name place settings. The theme was definitely natural which we think is always the best way – you really don’t need to spend a fortune on decorations – the simple ones are always the prettiest.

Once seated the guests tucked into their starters of Homemade Pea & Mint Soup with Crusty Bread Roll & Butter,  Farmhouse Pate served Brown Toast and a Sweet Onion Relish and Goats Cheese and Caramelised Red Onion Tart with a Rocket Salad.

This was followed by Roast Topside of Beef served with Thyme Yorkshire Pudding,  Chicken Breast Stuffed with Cream Cheese wrapped in Pancetta and Poached Salmon Fillet with a Watercress Sauce, all served with roast and new potatoes and seasonal vegetables.  The desserts went down a storm and consisted of  Chocolate Brownie with Vanilla Ice Cream, Traditional Sussex Banoffee Pie &  Apple, Rhubarb & Almond Crumble with Custard – all simple classics but delicious.

The evening food was Pulled Pork in a BBQ sauce with Crusty Rolls – a really popular dish at the moment, and perfect for an informal snack to refuel with before hitting the dance floor again.

We love working at Manor Barn and really enjoyed this one. We wish Victoria and Stefano all the very best for the future!
