40th Birthday Lunch – March 2019

Matthew wanted to lay on a special meal for family and friends to help celebrate his wife’s 40th birthday.

Being members of a sailing club in Rye they were obviously allowed to use this as their venue. With a more than adequately kitted out kitchen for us to use and stunning views over the harbour it was the perfect option for them.

There are so many venues now in East Sussex we are spoilt for choice. And if it’s a fairly small event there are plenty of wonderful village halls that are not only extremely reasonably priced but fill the bill in many other ways, such as parking, kitchen facilities, pretty location and so on.

Matthew’s group consisted of 19 adults and 15 children, just enough for us to offer one of our general menus as opposed to our private dining menu which is designed for smaller, more intimate groups.

Matthew chose from our Standard Menu with a separate main course of Mediterranean vegetable pasta for the younger kids:

Garlic & herb sautéed mushroom bruschetta

Thyme & garlic marinated pork fillet served on sweet potato mash with a creamy mushroom sauce

Trio of Chocolate Brownies

Tea & Coffee

After tea and coffee the group took advantage of the fabulous location by having a long walk around the harbour and nature reserve; perfect way to walk off a lovely meal.

If you want to spoil a loved-one by getting all the family together for a meal but don’t want to have to do the cooking yourself contact us to see what we can do to help out and make the day really special without any stress.
