Betty and Will got married in Betty’s home town of Sedlescombe and the Reception was held on the beautiful and spacious grounds of the family home nearby.
The couple chose a Tepee marquee supplied by our good friends at Meridian Marquees and it looked amazing. With lighting and heating, it creates a very inviting space to celebrate, whatever the weather.
After the ceremony, the wedding party headed back for champagne and canapé including Miniature Toad in the Hole, Coriander & Chilli Hummus on Pitta Toasts, Oven Roasted King Prawn & Chorizo Skewers, Sun-dried Tomato & Parmesan Risotto Balls (Arancini) and Salmon & Cream Cheese Blinis.
The rain held off just long enough for the guests to enjoy the welcome drinks and nibbles outside but it wasn’t long before most made their way into the tepee to warm up a bit and dodge the pending shower! Once inside though it was cosy and welcoming and the room looked beautiful.
The couple went for an informal Hot & Cold Fork Buffet and the guests came up to be served Poached Salmon, Lemon Chicken with Green Beans & Black Olives and Roasted Mediterranean Vegetable Lasagne accompanied by Greek Salad, Tomato, Basil & Mozzarella Salad, Orzo Salad, warm buttered New Potatoes and Home-made Breads.
For dessert, the guests enjoyed cake stands laden with Brownies and fresh Strawberries, and later on, in the evening they had traditional Italian wood-fired Pizzas served from a mobile pizza oven courtesy of Pizza Federicci www.pizzafedericci.co.uk
It was also the first time our son, Ned had come with us to help out behind the scenes and actually, he did very well. Maybe Green Fig will have a new member of staff before too long, or maybe he’ll realise that there must be easier ways to make money unless you love what you do!
Betty and Will had a fantastic day and it was a pleasure to be a part of it. We wish them both all the very best!
