As one of Birling Manor’s preferred Caterers we found ourselves up there on 2nd May for another wedding.
Victoria Sponge
Totally different to the wedding a few weeks before, Stacey and Steve went for an Afternoon Tea option. They dressed the tables with beautiful fresh flowers in vases and pretty vintage china that Stacey has been collecting for the last few years. Simple and beautiful.
And as if they hadn’t had enough cake, Stacey’s wedding cake was a giant caterpillar!
In the evening they opted for a BBQ, and although it would have been lovely for the guests to be able to eat outside by the pool, the weather wasn’t very kind. Instead, we set up the salads and accompaniments on the buffet tables inside, and brought batches of home-made burgers, sausages and prawn skewers to the table. Nobody was any the wiser.

It was only Chef Ben and I who got a bit wet…but we did have a gazebo to BBQ under (although taking it down in the rain and dark was not quite so much fun!). But if the guests are happy, we are happy.
The weather didn’t seem to stop anyone having a good time, and the dance floor was in full swing when we left.
