Murder Mystery Wedding – November 2014

Our first spooky / horror theme wedding – and what a corker it was!

spooky wedding

Not only was it our first time catering at the beautiful Gildredge Manor in Eastbourne, but it’s the first time one of the guests has been murdered!

Sam and Jim had thought of everything. Bubbling cauldrons of dry ice set off just before the guests entered the dining room, zombies wandering about aimlessly, unspeakable things in jars, a horror film in the back room and a cake that was a bleeding heart (literally) surrounded by individual blood-filled cup cakes!

Sam wore a stunning dark aubergine corset style dress which must have taken hours to get into but it was worth the effort – she looked amazing.

The mood was….well…surprisingly upbeat considering that at 6:45pm someone was brutally murdered. We heard the screams from down in the depths of the kitchen!

The guests enjoyed slightly spiced Pumpkin soup or Asian Lamb Salad followed by Roast Beef with all the trimmings or Stuffed Chicken Breast. Dessert was Apple Crumble, Chocolate Fudge Cake or Cheese. All laced with arsenic of course….

A full-size skeleton was seated at the top table – now that’s a first for us…but he was no trouble at all – in fact he was  a bit on the quiet side.

Thanks Sam and Jim for choosing Green Fig Catering Company for your wedding and giving us this amazing opportunity to get involved in something really different and fun.

We wish Sam and Jim all the very best for the future.
