We love our weddings – but it’s always nice to do some other (less-pressure!) events as well, and this one was a real pleasure from start to finish.
BBQ
Doreen – a delightful lady – organised everything herself from finding us, choosing her menu and arranging all the other things she needed such as a marquee etc. – quite impressive for a lady of 90! She was keen to use local companies and we were only too pleased to recommend Dave at Meridian Marquees, based in Ninfield.
The party took place in the garden of Doreen’s lovely home, and she chose to have a BBQ with salads and a selection of Chef Ben’s delicious home-made breads. We like to buy our meat from Archers of Westfield – deserving winner of last year’s Sussex Butcher of the Year Award; their sausages are amazing! With waitresses looking after the guests the mood was relaxed and calm, and the weather brightened up a treat too.

Doreen was sad to have been too full to have one of our rich chocolate pots for dessert, but when she mentioned this in the lovely letter of thanks she sent us, we made one specially and took one to her – it was the least we could do seeing as she had been such a lovely customer to have worked for.
Doreen also says she’s really keen to use us again for future events so let’s hope we get to do her 100th birthday party as well – if she’s not too busy bungee jumping or travelling the world!
