Champagne and canapé really is the way to celebrate in style
We’re getting more and more enquiries for canapé receptions in people’s homes. No longer just for the rich and famous it’s a really stylish way to entertain without slaving away in the kitchen for hours or having to provide a whole meal for your guests, or do any washing-up!
These dainty nibbles compliment the champagne and add to the sociable feel of a canapé party. Guests can mingle and move around without having to hold a plate or put their drink down – no multi-tasking involved at all, good news for men. Just stay where you are and wait for each platter of irresistible delights to be presented to you.
This particular event was to celebrate Persian New Year. The large ground floor provided the perfect space to entertain. With a bar set up in one of the reception rooms and guests milling in the hall and other two reception rooms there was plenty of space for the 60 or so guests.
On the menu were mini Yorkshire puds stuffed with rare fillet steak, Mediterranean vegetable bruschetta bites, mini home-made quiches, chicken satay skewers and a whole host of sweet bites to follow.
Bar man Gordon was flat out on the bar and Rob and I did our best to make sure everyone was happy out the front, while Chef Ben was busy in the kitchen preparing the next batch of canapé.
The guests were having a whale of a time and the atmosphere was definitely buzzing. Just when we thought they had hired a really bad singer, we realized (thankfully) that the karaoke had started!
