Private Dining – Saturday 30th September 2017

Yet another amazing rental property, this one in the quiet village of East Dean is one we’ve been to on more than one occasion before.

The evening was a family celebration, a special treat for Clive who was celebrating his 80th birthday, organised by the Ami and the rest of the family who were spending the weekend in this lovely house.

starters

Like other families hiring a cottage or house in Sussex, Ami and her family wanted to make the most of the property and enjoy great food without having to go out for dinner. It’s especially handy for those with small children, as they can be in their home from home and be put to bed when it’s their bed time, so the adults can relax and be waited on.

Our private dining menu is really special. It’s like going to a really good restaurant with attentive service but without the extortionate wine list. In fact the service can be as intimate and attentive as the customer likes. We always ask what level of formality is required, so that we get it just right.

Starters were:

pink loin of lamb served with a Thai dressing

beetroot, goats cheese & rocket salad

haddock & quail scotch egg with tombstone chutney

Mains were:

duck breast with an oriental five spice sauce served on sweet potato purée and wilted spinach

pan fried fillet steak with dauphinoise potatoes, tender stem broccoli and a creamy peppercorn sauce

Desserts were:

zesty lemon pots with fresh raspberries

salted caramel pecan pie

trio of desserts, consisting of chocolate brownie, brandy snap basket & warm treacle sponge

If you like the sound of that and fancy spoiling yourselves check out our private dining menu and get in touch.
