Yet another balmy sunny day for a wedding, and today’s was Alex and Neil’s at the charming Alfriston Village Hall.
Rafts of friends and family were involved in getting the Hall ready the day before, and when I popped in to check on things it was like the scene in Footloose where they get ready for the big town dance! The next day the room looked amazing, full of home-made and simple touches.
After catering for a very full-on but spectacular wedding the day before we were all geared up to do it all again, but this time it was picnic style hampers in a totally relaxed, chilled-out setting.
With blankets and games spread outside on the lawn the guests were free to mill about and enjoy the sunshine. The hampers were greeted with much excitement especially amongst the guests from abroad who were fascinated by the unusual and totally apt choice for laid-back couple Alex and Neil.
There was such a nice mood to the day, it hardly felt as though we were working, which was lucky really seeing as it was John’s birthday…. Alex and the guests all sang Happy Birthday to him, and one lady even serenaded him in Welsh…!
The weather couldn’t have been better, and even when we left guests were still sitting outside on blankets and taking it nice and easy. We’re so thrilled that everyone enjoyed themselves so much, and we did too.
We wish Alex and Neil all the very best for their future together.
