Wedding – Zoe & Alastair – Saturday 23/7/16

Ahh…Zoe and Alistair; a lovely young couple and our first outing to the beautiful Milwards House in Laughton, part of the Milwards Estate.

Milwards House is a stunning venue with a 16th Century Grade II listed house sitting proudly above 150 acres of grounds and a 5 acre lake.  The couple tied the knot at 14:00 in the Coach House accompanied by their 37 guests.

After that it was time for the arrival drinks and canapé in the grounds. The guests enjoyed treats including Melon and Parma Ham,  Smoked salmon and Cream Cheese Blinis, Sundried Tomato and Parmesan Risotto balls & Butternut Squash & Feta Filo Tarts. Canape are the perfect way to kick things off, a taster of what is to come.

The guests took their seats in the beautifully decorated marquee at 16:00 and enjoyed a leisurely three-course sit down meal that started off with Roasted Mediterranean Vegetable Bruschetta, Smoked Fish Roulade with Cucumber Crème Fraiche and a Warm Asian style Lamb Fillet Salad.

Mmmm!

Mmmn!

This was followed by Oriental Pork Fillet served with Sweet Potato Mash, Goats Cheese and caramelised Red Onion Tart, or a Poached Salmon Fillet with a Watercress Sauce, all served with New Potatoes and Seasonal Vegetables.

To round things off nicely desserts were a Selection of Sussex Cheeses with Biscuits, Summer Berry Pavlova or a Trio of very chocolatey Chocolate Brownies. Alastair had struggled to choose between the Pavlova and the Brownies, but plumped on the Pavlova in the end. We served some bite-sized Brownies with his Coffee though, so he didn’t miss out!

The evening food was organised by Alastair’s sister so as soon as we were cleared up and ready to go, she got in to get organised.

A really lovely day with lovely people and a pleasure to be a part of. Although we cater for several very large weddings we still like the little ones too!

We wish Zoe and Alastair all the very best for their future together.
