About Us

Green Fig Catering Company is a small family-run company established by partners John & Jo Crittenden, committed to providing real food throughout East Sussex.

Basically we’re nuts about food! We’re proper foodies with a focus on simple but delicious tastes, attention to detail and a friendly, approachable manner.

No Michelin stars (yet!), but we do know how to organise a successful event, as well as cater for it. We go the extra mile to ensure all aspects are covered, from planning the menu to producing it on the day.

Working with professionalism and integrity and always striving to improve, we take every care in not only meeting – but exceeding your expectations.

Q: What is your favourite dish?
A: “Roast Rib of Beef with roast potatoes cooked with goose fat, and proper gravy”

Q: Where have you had a memorable dining experience?
A: “At the Sir Charles Napier Inn, somewhere in Oxfordshire”

Q: Where have you had good food recently?
A: “Riddle and Finns in Brighton”

Q: What is the most unusual thing you’ve eaten?
A: “We had lots of unidentifiable things in Vietnam, but I loved the kangaroo steaks in Australia”

Q: Who would you like to invite to a dinner party?
A: “Nigella Lawson. If she accepted, I wouldn’t bother inviting anyone else…”

Q: What is your favourite dish?
A: “Crispy Peking Duck with all the trimmings. I could eat it at any time of the day”

Q: Where have you had a memorable dining experience?
A: “64 degrees in Brighton”

Q: Where have you had good food recently?
A: “Cru in Eastbourne”

Q: What is the most unusual thing you’ve eaten?
A: “When we were on our honeymoon in Vietnam I (unwittingly) ate something that should be on a lead or barking at the postman…”

A: “Guy Garvey from Elbow, Trevor Eve and Steve Coogan.

The Green Fig Team is made up of John, Jo, Matt, Anglea, Ben and Nicole. We also have a bank of fantastic waiting staff who have been with us for many years, and despite having their own jobs, they keep coming back for more!
