What better way to celebrate summer than with the great British picnic? These are absolutely ideal for a more informal country style wedding – which seems to be the trend at the moment. Couples are opting for less fuss and formality and more fun.
But you don’t have to be sitting on the ground outside – let’s face it – we can’t ever guarantee the weather for that! Idyllic as it sounds, guests are still seated at tables in the traditional way (whether it be individual round tables, or long trestles joined together to make a more sociable and informal setting – also good if space is limited). Wooden slatted chairs (available to hire) set the scene perfectly as do pretty tablecloths and napkins and simple jars of flowers or tea lights; all easy on the budget too. Scatter some hay bales outside and decorate with fairy lights and you have the perfect summer picnic setting.
Picnic Hampers are also ideal if you are feeding people of all ages as there is enough variety to cater for those with likes and dislikes. And because the hamper is brought to the middle of the table, guests can delight in the unpacking of everything and then share things out and decide how much of anything they want, so it’s a very flexible option. We can always cater for those with specific dietary needs separately, so just let us know.
Picnic Hamper Weddings are also a more cost-effective way of feeding even the hungriest of guests. Cheaper than a traditional three-course meal, and every bit as filling. It’s the sort of food you really want to tuck into; home-made Quiches, Breads, Pates, Sausage Rolls & Salads for example, accompanied by Cheeses and Cold Meats and served with the condiments of your choice.
