Samantha and Darren got married at St Mary’s Church opposite Gildredge Manor on Friday 9th August.
Like many they were taking advantage of premium venues offering reduced prices for weekday weddings which is a win-win situation for everyone.
The wedding party arrived at 14:15 and after a confetti line for the bride and groom they all enjoyed Prosecco and canape in the beautiful surroundings at Gildredge Manor.
Canape included homemade cheeseburgers in mini buns with a red onion marmalade, chicken satay skewers, sun-dried tomato & parmesan arancini and smoked salmon & cream cheese blinis.
The 90 guests made their way upstairs to the Gallery where the tables were beautifully laid with a pink accent and wedding favours of individually wrapped Welsh cakes – a nod to Darren’s Welsh heritage.
They had decided to get the speeches out of the way before the meal, after which they enjoyed these dishes from our Traditional Standard Menu, pre-ordered by the guests:
Homemade Tomato & Basil Soup
King Prawn Cocktail with Vanilla Marie Rose Sauce
Ham & Leek Potato Croquettes with Wholegrain Mustard Mayo
~~~
Roast Sirloin of Beef & Yorkshire Pudding
Bacon-wrapped Chicken Breast
Mediterranean Vegetable Lasagne
Served with roast potatoes, green beans, baby corn & carrots
~~~
Sticky Toffee Pudding with a warm Toffee Sauce
Lemon Cheesecake with Ginger Biscuit Base
Trio of Chocolate Brownies
(rich chocolate, salted caramel, mint)
The guests made their way downstairs for coffee while we got the room cleared and clean upstairs. A DJ was lined up for the entertainment and later on in the evening they tucked into hot dogs, veggie dogs and fried onions.
Another great wedding at Gildredge Manor. See www.gildredgemanor.co.uk for more info and ask for their recommended caterers – we’re on there!
