Our first time at Four Oaks Farm near Hassocks and what a beautiful venue it was that Steve and Sophie had chosen for their big day.

With the marquee set up overlooking the lake the view was spectacular. After getting married in nearby Hove the wedding party made their way back to the venue for welcome drinks and canapé, which included favourites such as Chicken Satay Skewers, Roasted Mediterranean Vegetable Bruschetta, Oven Roasted King Prawn & Chorizo Skewers & Thai Crab & Chilli Toasts.

The weather was a bit cloudy to start with but luckily soon brightened up which meant that the guests could take advantage of the beautiful surroundings and watch as the bride and groom risked a ‘You’ve Been Framed’ moment by getting into the little rowing boat….very brave!

Once safely back on dry land the wedding party milled around before taking their places in the marquee for the Wedding Breakfast which was an informal Hot Fork Buffet consisting of Moroccan Lamb Tagine served with Herby Cous Cous, Creamy Chicken & Almond Curry served with Basmati Rice or Spinach & Feta Cannelloni served with Butternut Squash & Rocket Salad with Toasted Seeds.

Dessert was individual Banoffee Pies and Zesty Lemon Pots with Fresh Raspberries. With various speeches in between and after the meal (all of which were very amusing!) we were busy out the back getting packed away. We love working in marquees because there is plenty of space which makes our job much easier, and we can be far enough away from the guests not to make too much noise. With everything being hired in and returned dirty, the best thing is there’s not much washing up to do!

Hot Fork Buffet

The guests were a lively crowd, which is always good sign and makes for a good atmosphere. We do like to hear a buzz in the room and people enjoying themselves, but most of all enjoying the food we make for them!

Yet another lovely couple and a great wedding to be part of. We wish Steve and Sophie all the very best for their future together.
