Wedding – Tim & Michael – Saturday 14th July 2018

Handsome grooms Tim & Michael chose an equally beautiful venue for their big day – Gildredge Manor in Eastbourne.

Being the socialites that they are and with Michael coming from Australia, the boys had a large number of friends and family to share their big day with, so after much deliberation they decided against a sit down meal and opted for an extended drinks and canape reception instead.

This turned out to be a good decision, not only because they were then able to invite everyone for the whole event, but it was a scorcher of a day! For those who didn’t want to be in the sunshine all of the time there are of course many beautiful rooms inside to explore and relax in.

With over 120 guests, they held the ceremony upstairs in the Long Gallery with our good friend Kate from Kate and Kate Celebrants. After their personalised, informal & obviously funny ceremony (judging by the laughter resonating from upstairs) they headed for the garden for chilled Prosecco and canape.

Canape included pesto, cream cheese & sun-dried tomato filo tartlets, quail’s Scotch eggs, roasted Mediterranean vegetable bruschetta, Yorkshire puddings with rare roast beef & wasabi mayo, lemongrass infused shredded chicken sliders and also sun-dried tomato & parmesan arancini.

Just as they had planned everything took place outside due to the amazing weather. After several top ups of Prosecco, Tim & Michael also held their speeches in the garden.

When all of the evening guests arrived it was time for the paella – also cooked in the garden for everyone to admire. With some 164 mouths to feed we needed two huge paella pans on the go, followed by another one cooked afterwards. Served with salad and home made bread it made the evening food more of a meal rather than the snack it usually is.

Tim and Michael also had a cheese tower cake rather than a traditional sweet cake. This was dismantled and plattered up in the Ladies Morning Room for folks to dig into. And our amazing chocolate brownies provided the sweet treat for after.

With a band in the Garden Room later on it was a full day without even needing to sit down for a traditional Wedding Breakfast. Tim & Michael know how to throw a party and this was perfect for them. Many of the guests travelled over from Australia – I think they saw British weddings at their best.

Tim & Michael were fabulous and it was such a pleasurable day for us too!
