We do try to take Sunday off – but we’re a sucker for a kid’s party, and being the daughter of a business acquaintance of ours, how could we say no!

The venue was Crowhurst Park, and it was a 6th birthday party for the birthday girl and 19 of her friends! Probably best to get the caterers in to take away that sort of stress…keeping 20 kids amused is a challenge in itself without having to worry about getting up at the crack of dawn to make sandwiches that will be all curly by lunchtime!
The beauty of out-sourcing it even when the food is fairly straight-forward is that we can focus on just that task without having to worry about party bags or pass the parcel prizes. We have the necessary prep space and more importantly the refrigeration space. We can also leave it until much later to get started than any mum would dare do, because we know we can knock it all up in double quick time without the distractions of a busy home or over-excited children!
We can put together a balanced but fun menu for them all to tuck into, and by all means you can add to it by getting some bits yourselves (something we do not encourage for any other type of occasion!!)
The kids had a great time by the sounds of things and hopefully we took away just a little bit of the stress from the parents. If your time is your most precious commodity, make life a bit easier by out-sourcing some of the work – even if you are perfectly capable of doing it yourself….life’s too short for stressing over sausage rolls!
