Saturday 14th September 2019 marked the big day for our friend Ben and his wife Jo.
They held their wedding in the little chapel on site at Otham Court, on the outskirts of Hailsham. Their little son brought them the rings in style in a little motorized car.

After the ceremony the guests had some fizz and canape whilst milling around inside and outside the marquee. Canape included chicken satay skewers, cherry tomato, mozzarella & basil kebabs, onion bhajees and homemade mini cheeseburgers in sesame buns.
During this time they were entertained by the amazing Alexander James, magician. Our paths cross fairly often and even when we watch him like a hawk we still have no idea how he does his tricks; he’s so slick and quick….and funny all at the same time.
They also had another of our favourite wedding contacts, Dub Bar. Drinks served from a customised old VW Camper Van – (much like our own but probably more reliable). The VW was parked outside the main marquee but still undercover – a really versatile marquee supplied by local company James Marquees.
The guests took then their seats in the marquee for the wedding breakfast. Ben & Jo selected a mix of dishes from our Traditional Standard and our Traditional Premium Menu. Always happy for folks to mix and match. On their starter menu were King Prawn Cocktail with a Vanilla Marie Rose Sauce, Tomato, Basil & Mozzarella Salad with a Pesto Dressing, and Roasted Mediterranean Vegetable Bruschetta. The children had a separate starter of Home-made Hummus & Crudite.
Eton Mess
Mains included Roast Beef with Yorkshire Pudding & Gravy, Chicken Breast stuffed with sun-dried Tomato & Mozzarella wrapped in Serrano Ham and Roasted Mediterranean Vegetable Lasagne while the children had Home-made Chicken Goujons & Chips,
Desserts were Strawberry Eton Mess, Zesty Lemon Pots or Trio of Chocolate Brownies (flavours included Rich Dark Chocolate, Salted Caramel and Chocolate & Walnut). Ben and Jo like their puds so they had two each….and why not!
A DJ entertained them while we cleared down and got the evening buffet prepared. It’s non-stop behind the scenes while everything is nice and leisurely out the front. But as long as everyone is having a good time we don’t mind a bit.
And enjoy themselves they did. Another great couple and a fantastic day.
