Well, no wedding today so it made a nice change to be doing the annual Cricket Club Dinner at another of our favourite venues, the Reid Hall at Boreham Street.
We catered for the Herstmonceux Cricket Club this time last year and they booked us again as it was such a success. The group set the tables themselves and decorated the room in yellow and blue.
On the menu for starters was a choice of either Soup to start, Smoked Salmon Salad, or home-made Ham and Cheese Croquettes with Mustard Mayo. For mains the guests pre-ordered either Pork Belly, slow-roast Beef in a Red Wine Jus or stuffed Chicken Breast.
Dessert was a choice of Lemon Pot, Crème Brulee, Sticky Toffee Pudding or Cheese and Biscuits – all delicious – and the guests obviously thought so too as it was only clean plates that came back into the kitchen from all of the courses.
After dessert and coffee was cleared we left them to get on with their Awards Ceremony. A really nice event to cater for, and a nice bunch of people too. Hopefully we’ll be seeing them all again next year!
