Wedding – Claire & Robin – Saturday 1/10/16

First time at a new venue for us – Big Sky Tipi’s at Wartling – and hopefully not our last!

What a fab place to hold a wedding. The site lends itself perfectly to the festival, glamping style wedding that so many are after these days – Claire and Robin included. Why only have a day’s fun and celebrations when you can do it all weekend – with all your favourite people?!

Claire and Robin’s and many of their guests stayed in the fabulous tipis that are already on site, and with a field next door for tents, and camper vans (Claire and Robin love a VW Camper just like us!) there is room for everyone to set up camp, and a campfire and have a good old shindig.

Both being very musical it was a chilled out day of various bands (including Claire’s) started off with a guitarist after the ceremony. The weather was decidedly iffy with the odd downpour – but that didn’t seem to spoil anyone’s day at all. In fact – everyone was geared up for it. Claire had some fab white DM’s under her dress, and there were many a beautiful wedding outfit with matching wellies. Well, it’s not a festival without wellies is it?

After Pimms and nachos in the Pimms tent the wedding party took their seats in the main tipi for the Wedding Breakfast which started off with home-made chicken liver parfait with a rocket salad and toasted focaccia, and fan of melon & exotic fruits for the Veggies and Vegans.

For main course most opted for the delicious slow-roast shoulder of lamb with homemade gravy and roast potatoes, but the Vegan friendly butternut squash tagine with a herbed cous cous is also a winner. The dessert didn’t disappoint either – a trio of chocolate & pistachio brownies always hits the spot and Chef Ben also made some brownies that were Vegan friendly – and they are also pretty good – we all gave our verdict on the day!

When we left the party was in full swing, and Claire was up on stage in the main tipi singing with her band. It was a great atmosphere all day despite the weather and a really nice bunch to cater for. So many came to our kitchen tent to say how much they had enjoyed the food – we never get bored of hearing that.

A truly fantastic couple, and all of the staff really enjoyed the day too. So glad we had the chance to be part of Claire and Robin’s big day – and we wish them all the very best for a very fun-packed future.
