Fran & Aaron – Saturday 29th July 2017

Well, the weather was wet for most of the day but this did not spoil things at all for Fran & Aaron who celebrated in style at Peelings Manor Barn in Hankham.

Peelings Manor Barn

Just down the road from Green Fig HQ this really is a hidden gem. Plenty of outside space, room to have a marquee on the back of the barn if desired, and a beautiful courtyard for enjoying the outside space (when the weather is behaving itself).

Fran and Aaron got married in Three Cups, then made their way back to the village of Hankham to settle in for the rest of the day and the evening, with plenty in store for the guests.

The barn has a typically English countryside feel to it, which Fran and Aaron wanted to make the most of with their menu. Proceedings kicked off with the quintessentially British Pimms & Lemonade, followed by canapé and then picnic hampers served to the tables for the main event.

It was the perfect menu for this venue, and with no kitchen equipment supplied, having cold food keeps the costs down considerably in terms of hire-in goods such as ovens etc.

Picnic Hamper

Fran and Aaron chose 6 canapé from our canapé menu, including the ever-popular mini cheeseburgers, chicken satay skewers, basil & pesto tartlets, smoked salmon & cream cheese blinis, tomato & mozzarella kebabs and king prawn & chorizo skewers.

After the picnic hampers were cleared away and folks were nicely full up the top table was moved to allow access to the marquee adjoining the barn, and to accommodate the additional folks for the evening, totalling 125 guests.

Fran & Aaron also laid on a finger buffet for the evening, as well as a band ‘Gentlemen of the Road’ and a DJ. A leisurely but fun-packed day, with great food and great entertainment.

Yet another lovely laid-back couple who understood from the off that ‘keeping it simple’ will always reap the best rewards.

Despite the British weather not being very dependable, you can be sure of a good feed with us!

We wish them both all the best and thank them for their kind words (see left).
