Nicola and Charlie chose the private venue of Otham Court near Hailsham for their ceremony and wedding celebrations.
The ceremony took place in the small chapel-like annexe followed by drinks and canapé. Nicola and Charlie wanted this part to be very leisurely, involving lawn games and general milling around before being joined by some extra guests for the Wedding Breakfast.
Nicola and Charlie chose a variety of canapé consisting of mini toad in the hole, Malaysian meatballs, prawn & chorizo skewers, butternut squash & feta filo tarts, cheddar, mango chutney & rocket scones, Yorkshire puddings with rare beef fillet & horseradish, and lastly roasted vegetable bruschetta.
The guests took their seats in the impressive tipi at 4:30pm and the Wedding Breakfast was a BBQ, served buffet style. BBQ’s are very popular now as a more relaxed and informal dining style. We offer a two-course menu which is varied and filling. With no pre-orders to collate, it also makes it easier for the bride and groom.
On the menu for the main dishes were oriental marinated pork fillets, minted lamb kebabs and satay chicken skewers. The vegetarians and vegans were catered for separately with vegetable kebabs and tomato & vegetable parcels.
The mains were accompanied by salads consisting of new potato salad, butternut squash & rocket salad, tomato, basil & mozzarella salad with home-made pesto and green salad.
Nicola and Charlie chose a trio of desserts for their pudding, consisting of mini portions of banoffee pie, summer berry pavlova and treacle sponge.
With a self-serve coffee station to finish off with it was a real feast.
The weather wasn’t exactly BBQ weather but the tipi was cosy and warm, complete with a fire pit inside! The tables were simply dressed, with no need for expensive linen, and they looked great.
Nicola and Charlie had local band The Chandaliers lined up for entertainment later on as well as cheese and biscuits organised by themselves and the family.
It was nice laid-back day which reflected Nicola and Charlie perfectly. Keeping it simple is always the best way and everything came together beautifully.
Another fab couple and we wish them both all the best!
