Tepee Wedding – Sonya & Chandu – Sat 7th April 2018

Pekes is an impressive Tudor Manor tucked away just off the A22. With accommodation in the manor house and surrounding buildings for up to 60 guests, as well as a beautiful enclosed garden ideal for a marquee, it offers a wonderfully unique setting for a wedding or celebration.

With most of the wedding party coming over from Abu Dhabi and India they were excited by the typically English setting, and even the prospect of some cooler weather, although I don’t think they ordered the wind and the rain that we’d had all month!

With the threat of rain they decided to hold the ceremony in the grand dining room instead of outside as previously planned. With the help of an independent celebrant the ceremony can take place wherever you fancy!

But it was certainly cosy and warm in the tepee they had set up on the lawn, complete with fire pit. After drinks from a Prosecco van and canapé served by our waitresses the guests took their seats in the tepee at raw wood bench tables ready for their wedding breakfast.

Sonya & Chandu chose our Picnic Hamper Menu for their big day – perfect for the location and setting, and there were even a few smatterings of sunshine to top it off.

The hampers contained traditional treats such as home-made Quiche and Sausage Rolls as well as Chicken Skewers and Roast Beef. Served with fabulous fresh salads and plenty of fresh home-made Bread this menu always ticks the box. It’s versatile and filling and suits most palates.

Instead of a traditional sweet cake, Sonya & Chandu had a tower of various Cheeses, which were chunked and wrapped inside the hamper.

Dessert was a very British Rhubarb and Almond Crumble served with fresh pouring Cream.

A refreshingly laid-back wedding, Sonya & Chandu didn’t need great weather to have a fantastic day. We wish them all the best!
