We’re getting lots of enquiries for private dining – perfect if you want to stay in the comfort of your own home and be waited on hand and foot. Also perfect if you’re renting a property with friends or family and want a fancy meal without the cost of taxis, over-priced wine and without being rushed because there’s a second sitting. You don’t even have to buy a new dress – you can put your old favourites on and be as comfy and as casual as you like (slippers optional).
Tomato and mozzerella tower with pine nuts & pesto
Lauren and 10 of her girlfriends did just that. They were celebrating a hen-weekend and did it in style by hiring a place in Brighton and booking us to come in and spoil them.
We’re always happy to offer a choice of two or three per course so that everyone can choose something they really like, just as you would in a restaurant. All we ask is that it is pre-ordered, so that we can keep everyone happy on the day. Many of the rental properties that we have worked in have had beautiful spacious kitchens and a separate dining area, but this is by no means a pre-requisite. We have also catered from some more bijoux family kitchens with the guests sitting in the same room – perfect if you like a bit of theatre and for showing off that you have a real chef in your kitchen!
Sticky Toffee Pudding
The group chose a really nice menu of some of our most popular dishes for this type of occasion. They started with the Pink Loin of Lamb Fillet served with a Thai Dressing, and the Tomato, Basil and Buffalo Mozzarella Tower with home-made Pesto Dressing. For mains the choice was Pan Fried Fillet Steak with a Creamy Mushroom Sauce, or Individual Salmon En-Croute, both served with Seasonal Vegetables and Dauphinoise Potatoes.
Desserts included Chocolate Brioche Bread and Butter Pudding and Sticky Toffee Pudding with a Hot Toffee Sauce and Vanilla Ice Cream… (ooh…yum I think I might be dribbling a bit)
With our waiter topping up the wine and making sure they had everything they needed, the party was relaxed, upbeat and unrushed.
