Another private dining event, this time at a property in East Dean where we’ve been many times before.
Usual drill: bunch of friends hiring a fabulous house in Sussex and wanting great food without having to go out for it or cook it themselves. That’s where we step in. Chef and waitress arrive and take care of everything, so the guests can sit back, get waited on and have the best of both worlds.
We’ll adapt to the mood of the evening. Some folks like to dress up and enjoy a more formal service, others want to kick back and enjoy being in a home from home but with a more informal feel. Either way, we offer an friendly, inobtrusive and professional service.
Giacomo and his ten friends pre-selected their food from our Private Dining Menu which is geared up for small intimate groups, with an emphasis on quality restaurant food and presentation. They kicked off in style with some fizz which they supplied and we served, along with canape.
They chose Smoked salmon & cream cheese blinis, Chicken satay skewers, Roasted Mediterranean vegetable bruschetta, Thai crab & chilli toasts, Oven roasted king prawn & chorizo skewers, and Sundried tomato & parmesan Arancini.
For the starters the group chose from Beetroot, goat’s cheese & rocket salad or Haddock & quail scotch egg with a tomato chutney. Mains were slow roasted shoulder of lamb served on Boulangere potatoes with Mediterranean vegetables in a light tomato & rosemary jus, or pan fried fillet steak with dauphinoise potatoes, tenderstem broccoli & a creamy peppercorn sauce – cooked to order as per peoples’ preference.
ndividual summer berry pavlova with raspberry coulis or sticky toffee pudding with warm toffee sauce & vanilla ice-cream, followed by tea and coffee and mints
