At last – a wedding in our home town of Battle!
Held at the Battle Memorial Hall in the High Street, Rosemary and Thomas had the run of the place, which also meant that we had plenty of room – always a nice bonus!
Every wedding is different – which is what we love about them. Rosemary & Thomas dressed the centre of their tables with stacks of their favourite books & gardening memorabilia – wonderfully quirky!
The Wedding Breakfast was interjected with short skits and sketches which kept the crowd entertained – again a really different and individual touch.
The ultimate show-stopper (for us anyway) was in the form of the legs of slow-roast lamb that were brought to the tables for the designated carver to carve at the table (luckily no actual carving involved – the meat just falls away) – but they certainly looked the part in their chef’s hats.
Then it was time for the dessert table – always a crowd-pleaser, and we always make enough for everyone to come up again (and again in some cases!). The evening fayre was a simple cheese platter, dressed with grapes and celery & served with crackers and French bread.
It was a long day, especially as we were working until the early hours the night before – but 15 hours on your feet is always worth it when you see people enjoying themselves, and most importantly for us – enjoying the food.
We wish Rosemary and Thomas all the very best for their future together.
