Jeff & Emma – Friday 2nd October 2015

Jeff and Emma got married and held their Wedding Reception at the beautiful Hendall Manor Barns at Herons Ghyll near Uckfield, one of the stunning venues we are proud to be a preferred caterer of.

After the ceremony at 12:30pm the guests milled around outside in the courtyard area and were served welcome drinks on the patio. They had Prosecco as well as traditional Lemonade served in large Kilner jar dispensers. Fortunately the weather was kind, as this meant that we could turn the room around quickly while the guests were pre-occupied outside.

When the couple first came to us they had a very clear idea of what they wanted for their wedding food. Emma loves home-made cakes presented on pretty vintage crockery and Jeff loves his curries. So the Wedding Breakfast was a traditional Afternoon Tea consisting of savoury and sweet treats served on pretty vintage crockery and the Evening Food was a selection of Curries and accompaniments served as a Hot Fork Buffet. The guests were coming back for seconds and thirds so that’s always a good sign for us that everyone is enjoying the food!

Jeff is a musical man and owns his own studio in East Sussex – so there was a strong musical theme throughout the day and evening. They had made striking cake stand centrepieces for the tables out of records of varying sizes – (we remember vinyl very well)! It’s these little touches that make all of the weddings we do so individual to the couple and really personal. Photo 02-10-2015 14 17 58

In the evening Jeff took to the stage himself with his fellow musicians – and we boogied along from the kitchen! It’s great to have some good music to work to – keeps our energy levels up when we’re at that clear-up stage after a very long day.

The happy couple and the guests had a great day and it was a pleasure to be part of Jeff and Emma’s big day; we wish them all the very best for their future together x
