Nicola and Chris like so many others fell in love with Gildredge Manor where we are fortunate to be one of their recommended caterers, and they chose this beautiful venue for their wedding ceremony and reception.
Nicola, being a wedding photographer (and a very good one at that – see www.nicolakirkphotography.com) has undoubtedly seen many venues, but she knew this was the one she wanted for her own big day. In fact our paths had already crossed when she got to sample our food on another wedding we both happened to be working at Gildredge Manor. So the two biggest decisions – the venue and the caterer – were pretty easy for her!
On the day Nicola was very nervous, but she didn’t let it get the better of her and she still had an amazing day. The ceremony was in the Garden Room on the ground floor with views over the garden, and once again it was a lovely sunny day.
Nicola and Chris opted for our silver package which includes four canape per head. More can of course be added if you wish. Nicola and Chris chose Chicken Satay Skewers, Roasted Mediterranean Vegetable Bruschetta, King Prawn & Chorizo Skewers and Mini Toad in the Hole. These were served whilst the guests sipped Prosecco and milled around in the lovely garden.
After about an hour and a half, the guests made their way upstairs to the Gallery for the wedding breakfast. A traditional three course meal lends itself perfectly to this location, but the service can still be relatively informal if you prefer. Nicola and Chris chose our Standard traditional menu, which has food that is classically simple, and things that most people love – especially when it is done Green Fig style! Their choices were:
Homemade Leek & Potato Soup with homemade Bread
Ham & Leek Croquettes with Wholegrain Mustard Mayo
~~~
Thyme & Garlic marinated Pork fillet served on Sweet Potato Mash with a creamy Mushroom Sauce
Roasted Mediterranean Vegetable Lasagne
~~~
Sussex Banoffee Pie
Zesty Lemon pots with fresh Raspberries
After the Wedding Breakfast the guests took to the coffee station downstairs or straight to the bar. Later on for those that were hungry and for the evening guests Nicola and Chris chose one of our set menu Finger Buffets. Perfect for grazing in between dancing.
Another great day at Gildredge Manor. Nicola and Chris were great and we wish them all the best.
