Cheryl & Kerry – Wedding – Saturday 27th June 2015

Cheryl and Kerry held their Wedding Reception in the garden of their beautiful house. 2015-06-27 15.07.57

The marquee was situated at the top of the garden which meant that the guests had use of the delightful patio which housed the all-important bar area. With 3 kegs of Long Man Ale for only 60 guests this had all the makings of a pretty good day!

Even better was that the bottom of the garden was designated for the kids who were being entertained for the day by a team of child-minders. This worked brilliantly as the kids were having such a whale of a time with play-houses, a bouncy castle and their own lunch brought in that they didn’t bother climbing the steep part of the garden to see what the adults were up to! This obviously meant that the parents could concentrate on having a good time without the numerous distractions kids can throw at us. A master stroke!

As the guests milled around with arrival drinks,  jazz quartet The Cocktail Safari provided some chilled out sounds. The free and easy mood was continued throughout the day and reflected the couple perfectly. Photo 15-09-2015 12 39 05

The food also reflected the laid-back, sociable feel to the day with marinated Olives, Breads and Oils to start, followed by dishes of Lasagne served with some really special Salads. The Summer Berry Pavlova was a real winner for dessert, and there was even some trading going on between tables to procure any spare! Luckily Cheryl and Kerry got their hands on a whole one!

In the evening Cocktail Safari switched from cool jazz to floor-fillers and the guests were loving it. Trying to BBQ in the dark was a bit tricky but luckily we always carry a meat probe so that we know everything is cooked properly! The guests tucked in once again (there was no stopping this lot!)…this time to Jerk Chicken, Home made Burgers, Vegetable and Halloumi skewers and a selections of Salads and Breads.

The wedding cake was very unconventional – a three-tiered Banoffe Pie….which the guests also made very light work of!

A brilliant day was had by all….and we enjoyed it too! We wish Cheryl and Kerry all the very best!
