Anne-Marie & Brad – Saturday 4th July 2015

Wow! This has been the most talked-about wedding of our season! Aptly named ‘Glastonmarry’ by the couple, this was a mini-festival in a day!

Anne-Marie and Brad came to us and knew exactly what they wanted. A chilled-out festival style wedding. Lots of space, laid-back feel, great food, great music & in a wonderful setting. And that’s exactly what they got. AMB1

The venue was Burnt Barn Farms at Frickley Lake, an amazing setting complete with boat house accommodation for the bride and groom, and home of our preferred marquee specialist Meridian Marquees. The marquee was stunning and incorporated a dining area, a central bar area and a stage area. Outside were hay-bales to sit on, an inflatable pub, and a Bucking Bronco (fortunately the dress code was casual!). With guests camping on site in bell tents and no kicking-out time, guests could mooch around taking it all in and most importantly taking their time. AMB12

Food and music are Anne-Marie and Brad’s real passions, and they chose a menu that excited us as much as it did them. The Wedding Breakfast was a BBQ featuring Chinese Five Spice Pork Fillet, Thai Style Tuna Steaks with Lime, Chilli and Coriander, Lamb Kebabs and Lemon & Tarragon Chicken served with New Potatoes and Salads and Breads.

Dessert was a trio consisting of Vanilla Tartlet with a Roasted Rhubarb & Vodka Shot, Chocolate Truffle Cake with a Ganache Topping and Tarte au Citron with Brulee Topping.

Bands and DJ’s provided the entertainment for the rest of the day and evening, during which time the World Food Village was open. We provided Spanish Paella, Jamaican Jerk Chicken and Mexican Chilli. Each had it’s very own themed shot as an accompaniment, another nice little touch that Anne-Marie and Brad had thought of. AMB11

Even the cake was a fabulous festival scene featuring incredibly life-like figurines of the couple. (Cake by Val @ Sovereign Cakes. www.sovereigncakes.biz). The amount of effort and planning Anne-Marie and Brad put in was amazing, from the setting to the festival wristbands and passes! But unlike some couples they got an early start (ceremony at 11.30 on site) and actually allowed enough time for everything to happen without being rushed….& I’m pretty sure things went on long after we left too!

This wedding is going to be featured in Festival Brides magazine so watch out for that!

We’d love to do another wedding like this. A huge thank you to Anne-Marie and Brad for choosing us for this fantastic day. We wish them all the best! xx
