Winter Wedding – Neil & Laura – Sat 17/12/2016

Neil and Laura chose the lovely village of Alfriston for their wedding. After the ceremony at St Andrews they held the reception at the War Memorial Hall, somewhere we are very familiar with.

Although the hall is perfect for summer weddings, with the doors opening up onto the lawn outside, it’s also beautiful in winter. We do love a winter wedding – they just have nice feel about them. And what better way to embrace winter than to greet the guests with a mug of hot mulled wine…just the smell of it is comforting 🙂

The couple love their food so it was no surprise that they chose a great menu too. Butternut Squash, Sage and Pancetta Risotto to start things off followed by Slow Roast Lamb with a rich Gravy, Dauphinoise Potatoes and Roasted Root Vegetables. The vegetarian choice was a rich Mushroom & Chestnut Bourguignon (an amazing dish even for known self-professed carnivores)

The dessert was Sticky Toffee Pudding with a hot Toffee Sauce or Clementine Cake followed by a nice cuppa. Pretty much the perfect menu for a winter’s day with friends. Just makes you want to put your slippers on doesn’t it?

Another brilliant couple who thoroughly enjoyed their big day, and an absolute pleasure for us to cook for folks who love their food!

Neil and Laura also left a great review on Google – which is always hugely appreciated, as well as a lovely testimonial (see left). Thanks guys x
