Private Dinner – Anne of Cleves House – October 2018

Caroline from Lewes arranged a private dinner for 30 people to take place in Anne of Cleves House, a historic Tudor building and unique venue in the heart of Lewes.

With it’s quirky setting it’s a perfect venue for a smaller group. Not quite so perfect from a catering point of view but the Green Fig team managed nonetheless.

Proceedings started in style with drinks and canape served by our staff, before the guests took their seats in the East Room for dining. A musician with some sort of medieval lute provided the perfect background music for the setting.

Hearty traditional food was also fitting for the occasion in the form of slow-roast shoulder of lamb with vegetables, and for the vegetarian guests a hearty spiced tagine with couscous. A trio of mini desserts brought the occasion bang up to date and it was clean plates all around.

A Sussex cheese board followed by coffee and mints completed the evening’s dining. Truly a feast fit for Kings and Queens alike.
