Classy yet informal, canapé receptions have really taken off. No longer for the elite, it’s a great way to get everyone together without sitting down for a meal. More time to chat and enjoy a drink.
We’ve catered for the Doctor and his wife many a time before, usually in their home, but this time they chose to hire the function room of the Tally Ho Restaurant in Eastbourne.
It’s our second time at this venue, having already catered a canapé party for one of their friends that they recommended us to (always our favourite way to get business). It’s a lovely venue with a fully staffed bar and several tables, sofas, as well as plenty of standing room, making it quite a flexible space.
While folks mingled and chatted and supped whatever their tipples were, our lovely girls offered canapé consisting of smoked salmon & cream cheese blinis, chicken satay skewers, roasted Mediterranean vegetable bruschetta, shredded chicken sliders and crispy filo tartlets with cream cheese, pesto & sun-dried tomato.
It was great to hear the hubbub from behind the screen that they had put up to give us some space to make the final preparations and finish off the canapé.
A great evening, canapé offers flexibility without the expense of a full meal. It’s really just fancy nibbles to keep the wolf from the door when you’re drinking champagne or similar, but worlds apart from the humble twiglet! 😉
