Cricket Club Dinner – Saturday 24th October 2015

Back at the well-equipped Reid Hall in Boreham Street – this time for the Cricket Club Dinner. Photo 24-10-2015 18 29 46

They had decorated the hall with bright colours – and even had inflatable cricket bats on the tables!

For their meal, they chose a simple but varied menu, that fitted their budget, and judging by the clean plates that came back in, it obviously hit the spot with the guests.

To start there was a choice of Home-made Root Vegetable Soup, Fan of Melon, Prawn Cocktail & Pate, and for mains there was a choice of Roast Topside of Beef with Yorkshire Pudding, Roast Loin of Pork stuffed with Apricots, Bacon Wrapped Chicken stuffed with Cream Cheese or Poached Salmon Fillet with a Herb and Caper Sauce.

Desserts were Chocolate Gateaux, Sussex Banoffee Pie, Rhubarb Apple and Almond Crumble or a selection of British Cheeses with Biscuits.

After we’d cleared up we left them to get on with their important Cricket business (washed down with plenty of wine by the sounds of things!).

A great lively bunch – a good time was had by all – and a real pleasure for us too.
