Sarah and Ben had a Lord of the Rings theme for their wedding – and they had the perfect setting for it at the Hyde Estate at Handcross.
The marquee was beautifully decorated with the centre pieces being rustic chunks of bark featuring Lord of the Rings place names, and guests had an amazing view of the lake and surrounding wooded areas. Even the smoking area kept with the theme with a hand made sign saying Smoking of Pipe Weed. These are the little touches that give weddings that simple but very personal touch – and reflect the personalities and interests of the couple.
The food also tied in nicely with the relaxed and rustic feel of the day. After Pimms and canapé, the guests took their seats and went up table by table to the Hog Roast which had been slowly cooking on site since 7am. Served with a selection of Salads and Breads it was a hearty feast fit for a Hobbit! And judging by the clattering of cutlery and the clean plates I think they may have even been some in the room…
With a table of cup cakes that had been made especially for the couple and then a vintage ice-cream van turning up on site, those with a sweet tooth were certainly catered for.
It was such a pleasure to be part of yet another refreshingly different wedding. In fact, no two weddings are ever the same. Sarah and Ben were relaxed and a delight to be around. In fact they were so busy enjoying themselves we hardly got a chance to see them but we know they had a fantastic day and it was everything they had wished for.
We wish Sarah and Ben all the very best!
