Film Crew – Ashburnham – Thursday 24th September 2015

This was a great booking for us – something really different and a nice change! Catering from 7am-7pm for the crew and participants of a TV show. Photo 24-09-2015 12 22 57

We were on location with a film crew making a reality TV show for wannabe models. I was hoping to be in the midst of some hunky beefcakes but, alas,  it was only very young, slim, pretty girls (who don’t eat very much). Luckily the rest of the crew heartily tucked into what they described as ‘the best food we’ve ever had on location!’.

The location was the very muddy site of the Spartan Race in Ashburnham – a race for hard-core enthusiasts taking them through muddy fields, over obstacles and through a freezing cold lake. We were secretly hoping the models might have to negotiate some of the obstacles in their Jimmy Choos but no such luck, they just had to look beautiful near the obstacles. We, on the other hand, were relishing the experience of working in thick mud! It’s not every day we get to wear Chef Whites & Wellies!

Throughout the day the team came in and out of the catering marquee as they pleased and munched their way through Pastries, Home-made Breads, Salads, Chicken Skewers, Frittata, Malaysian Meatballs, Home-made Cakes and lots of Fruit, not to mention a steady flow of Tea and Coffee, Juices and Water. With the weather being pretty cold for the time of year, the two Home-made Soups went down a treat and seemed to hit the spot with everyone.

We loved this job – and even better that the crew were so thrilled with everything that we had done to make their day a bit easier. Next time some male models please…
