Green Fig Catering Company are often asked to help our customers on the sad occasion of supplying food for a funeral. As much as this is a sad occasion, however, it must also be seen as a celebration of a life. And normally, once the funeral has happened, a wake will give you the opportunity to reconnect with long lost family and friends, as well as meeting others for the first time, who may have been in contact with the deceased.

It is an ideal time to catch up with people, meet new people and chat fondly about the person who is no longer with us. There is also often laughter and people will fondly reminisce about funny times and specific times that made them laugh.

What we like to offer, however, is to take some of the strain away for our customers. The build up to a funeral is always tough on everyone and there is lots to organise. So as long as we know about rough numbers and what sort of food you would like then you can just leave it up to our highly experienced chefs to create a spread that you can be proud of. You really won’t have to do a thing – we can sort it all.

If it is a buffet you would like, which is normally the most popular choice, then just leave it with us. Some ask for canapes, which is also a good choice, as you know then, that people can be fed at the same time as being able to chat.

An afternoon tea can also be a lovely choice – a high tea, if you like, with a lovely selection of sandwiches, and then some little cakes and scones, all freshly baked. Topped off with wonderful flavours of tea, it is a really nice way to serve everyone.
