Jo & Stephen – Thursday 14th July 2016

Jo and Stephen got married at St Pancras Church, Lewes and then it was all back to a family friend’s charming home in nearby Kingston for a glass of fizz on the front lawn.

Like a lot of couples these days Jo and Stephen wanted a simple, relaxed feel to the day. With a marquee in a beautiful rural setting such as this, it works well when the food reflects the informal, rustic style as well, and that’s why Jo and Stephen went for our Picnic Hamper Wedding Package.

Whatever style you go for – be it traditional or laid-back and chilled, we can give you the food to match the mood.

For the contents of their picnic hampers Jo and Stephen chose the following home-made goodies: Cherry Tomato & Roasted Red Pepper Frittata, Pork & Chorizo Sausage Rolls, Spinach & Feta Filo Tarts, Coronation Chicken, and Red Peppers stuffed with Feta.

Accompaniments served to the tables in bowls alongside the hamper were Persian Rice Salad, Roasted Butternut Squash & Rocket Salad with Toasted Seeds, Greek Salad and home-made Breads with Butter.

To continue with the sociable feel the couple opted for a dessert table which included Banoffee Pie, Summer Berry Pavlova and Chocolate Fudge Cake. Something for everyone, or in most cases….a little bit of each for everyone – we like to see people coming up again for more!

With a Columbian background on the bride’s side of the family, the coffee was supplied by Jo’s sister who brought it over with her from Columbia, so the guests enjoyed real Columbian Coffee after the meal, which made a great finishing touch to a lovely feast.

An idyllic setting and a great bunch to cater for – we love a relaxed feel to a wedding, it runs right through to the staff as well, who all really enjoyed this function.

After Green Fig were off site the party continued in and outside of the marquee, and later on they had a Hog Roast planned for topping up those energy levels!

We wish Jo and Stephen all the very best!
