Kirsten & Matt Otham Court Wedding

Another wedding at Otham Court set off the beaten track in between Hailsham and Eastbourne.

Kirsten and Matt tied the knot on Saturday 5th October in the little chapel on site at the venue. After the ceremony the guests were greeted with a drink, and it was just about warm enough to be outside. Kirsten and Matt wanted to sort out their own canape and supply pork pies – ‘pie and a pint’. Who wouldn’t be in favour of that idea?!

A Tipi Wedding

Once in the delightful tipi, decorated with fresh flowers and autumnal colours, the guests got settled in for the rest of the proceedings. Kirsten and Matt opted for a two-course meal, the main being hearty slow-roast lamb, brought out on boards to each table ready for the designated server to dish up to his / her table. The chosen ones were given their chef’s hat and apron so that they could look the part.

Being from up north Kirsten insisted on having Yorkshire puddings with the lamb – well, whatever floats your boat! The meat was also served with stacks of roasties and fresh seasonal vegetables, as well as a rich gravy.

To continue with the informal style, desserts were also presented on sharing boards: mini desserts of pavlova, chocolate brownie and lemon pots, and with one of each dessert per person there was plenty to go around.

A feast fit for a king and lovely Kirsten said she even had to loosen her dress a bit so that she could eat more. We totally encourage that!

And with a band providing all the entertainment the guests had plenty of time to work it all off…..before tucking into a cheese board and wedding cake for the evening food.

So great to be in the background and hear everyone having a whale of a time. Brilliant couple and brilliant fun to cater for.
