Private Dining is something we are doing more and more of now, particularly in fabulous rental properties like this one in Brighton.
This group were all adults who were treating themselves to a luxury weekend away without their children. The night before was a full on party at Proud Cabaret so the remit for the Saturday was to take it easy with canapé, cocktails, and a beautiful meal.
We do many hen parties and stag parties, sometimes a mix of both which apparently is now called HAG…! Or sometimes it’s a group of friends with young children hiring large property and wishing to give themselves a relaxing treat once the kids are packed off to bed – without anyone having to take responsibility for the shopping, cooking or clearing up – in fact the hardest part is actually deciding what to choose from our private dining menu!
When you weigh up the cost of a large group going out to eat and drink in Brighton (or anywhere these days) it gets into big money. Then there’s the transport there and back, unless you’re lucky enough to be bang in the centre of town. With private dining there’s no expensive wine list, no huffy waiter trying to hurry you out in time for the second sitting.
Private Dining fits the bill for so many reasons, but the big saving is that you can supply your own drinks, and we will happily serve them. It’s great to kick off with a few canapé, especially if you have something bubbly to go with it. If you budget for around £50.00 per head that will cover your canapé, a three-course fine dining meal of your choice and coffee afterwards – all taken slowly or according to your mood.
On the menu for Sam and friends was loin of lamb and carpaccio of beef for starters, followed by either duck breast or salmon en-croute parcel and for dessert they chose zesty lemon pots and chocolate brioche bread and butter puddings. As always the empty plates said it all.
