Phoebe and Sunnie chose The Old Chapel Centre in Alfriston for their wedding reception.
A beautiful little place in a side street off of the High Street in the quaint village of Alfriston, The Old Chapel is a well-hidden gem. The kitchen is very small so we are a bit limited in what we can offer, but that suited Phoebe and Sunnie who decided to go for a Canape Reception rather than a full-blown Wedding Breakfast.
Being November the couple decorated the chapel with autumnal touches such as pumpkins and gords, with hay bales scattered around for sitting on, and a wheel barrow of Prosecco. Candles scattered around and no harsh lighting created a lovely warm ambience on an otherwise chilly day.
The couple chose nine different items from our Drinks Party Menu – most of which are slightly larger and more substantial than our canapé – including Roasted Pumpkin & Filo Tartlets, Roasted Mediterranean Vegetable Bruschetta, Tomato, Basil & Mozzarella Kebabs, Mini Toad in the Hole, Pea & Chorizo Mini Quiches, Cheddar, Mango Chutney & Rocket Scones, Yorkshire Puddings with Horseradish Cream & Rare Beef Fillet, and Black Olive & Cheddar Cheese Straws.
Dessert was a lovely selection of cakes supplied by the Bride and Groom, displayed on pretty cake stands with mis-matched vintage china and dainty cake forks.
With guests milling around chatting and eating it was a lovely laid-back affair. The entertainment was a singer at first, who got everyone in the mood and later on a folk band. All this time the Prosecco was flowing and guests were enjoying being offered bite-size nibbles by our waitresses. And for those waning a bit, there was tea and coffee on offer too.
A really chilled out evening and great fun. We wish Phoebe and Sunnie all the very best.
